The Akron/Summit Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has just launched a new sales and marketing initiative – DEFY CONVENTION. With an array of flexible venues, iconic points of interest and complimentary planning services provided by the CVB, hosting an event “in this place we call home” has never been easier.
“Our community celebrates innovation and the defiant spirit that consistently enables us to challenge the status quo,” states Gregg M. Mervis, CVB President & CEO. “With ideas and determination, we can achieve anything together. Therefore, I encourage you to DEFY CONVENTION and consider bringing your next meeting, convention, exposition or event back to Greater Akron/Summit County,” Mervis adds.
The new initiative will allow the CVB to continue positioning Greater Akron, Ohio as an ideal destination for events of all types, while spurring a positive economic impact to our local economy through visitor expenditures (accommodations, dining, entertainment and retail).
A complete overview is available at www.akron.travel (Meeting & Tour Planners tab), including a video testimonials from Dru Joyce (King James Shooting Stars Classic), Kelly Falcone (Hale Farm & Village) and James Easterling (Ohio Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Mason).
