AKRON, OH (March 13, 2024) – The Akron/Summit Convention & Visitors Bureau (ASCVB) is asking all residents within the 330 to show off their community pride by wearing locally-themed shirts. This year, 330 Shirt Day – March 30 – falls on a Saturday.
People are encouraged to wear their favorite shirt that represents the 330. Summit County is fortunate to have an abundance of amazing initiatives to showcase. Show your love for a restaurant or business, sporting event or team, school or band, or even a coffee shop or brewery. With such a variety of options, truly anything goes!
Want more local swag? Use 330 Shirt Day as a reason to purchase something new from one of the many great local apparel producers or retailers.
The ASCVB will be hosting a contest for a chance to win $330 in local gift cards. Don’t miss out! To be eligible for the contest, photos must:
- Include a person wearing a 330 area, locally-themed shirt
- Be posted to Facebook, Instagram, or X on March 30
- Include the hashtag #330ShirtDay in the post
“We love Summit County, and we all love to show our pride for our favorites,” said Gregg Mervis, president & CEO of the ASCVB. “330 Shirt Day is a creative (and comfortable) way to show our support for the area where we live and work.”
Traditionally, the ASCVB has encouraged participants to wear their gear to work and take fun photos. Companies also gathered their employees to take group pictures and upload them to social media. The most extraordinary and fun photo would be selected as the winner and the ASCVB would donate to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank in the winning organization’s honor. With 330 Shirt Day being on a Saturday, this year’s efforts will be more focused on individuals sporting their favorite local attire and the ASCVB will make a donation to the Foodbank in that person’s name.
