rea motorcyclists are invited to enjoy the windy, curvy roads of Carroll and Tuscarawas counties and support a local veterans’ organization at the same time by participating in the second annual Best Dam Motorcycle Poker Run on Saturday, June 2.
While this is a motorcycle poker run, four-wheeled vehicles are welcome too.
This year’s route is 125 miles of beautiful scenery on state, county and township roads with stops at or near five dams or levees. Participants can take their time, grab an ice cream at one of the nearby ice-cream stands, and enjoy the view as they pick a card for their poker hand.
Proceeds from this event will benefit SAVE 22, a local, non-profit organization dedicated to the awareness and prevention of veteran suicide.
The cost is $30 per person or $50 for a couple and includes a poker hand and dinner. Tickets may be purchased in advance through EventBrite, https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-best-dam-motorcycle-poker-run-tickets-44848958442?aff=ebdssbdestsearch, or at the event.
Registration will be held 10-11 a.m. at the Atwood Lake Park’s Welcome Center, 9500 Lakeview Road, Mineral City.
The last bike in will be by 3 p.m. at the Lighthouse Bistro at Atwood Lake’s West Marina, 9280 Atwood Lake Road NE, Mineral City. Participants can relax with a view of beautiful Atwood Lake while enjoying dinner from 2:30-4:30 p.m. and music by Brian Lisik from 2-5 p.m.
At 4 p.m., the show of hands and door prize winners will be announced. The grand prize is a two night stay at Whispering Pines Bed and Breakfast in Dellroy, a weekday boat rental from Atwood Lake Boats and gift cards to area restaurants, the Lighthouse Bistro and The Atwood Dock Marina and Grill.
The event is sponsored by the Carroll and Tuscarawas counties Convention and Visitors Bureaus, Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Lighthouse Bistro at Atwood Lake, Atwood Lake Boats, The Atwood Dock Marina and Grill and SAVE 22.
