In addition to canoeing, camping and outdoor fun, the Loudonville area in Northeast Ohio hosts many popular fairs, most free. Here’s a small sample for 2013:
Celebrate the season with Spring Plowing Days at Malabar Farm State Park May 18-19, traditional farming on display. Enjoy Pioneer Days May 25-26 and International Wine Festivals June 8, at Wolf Creek Grist Mill. Fishing and boating fans will want to attend the North Central Safe Boating & Fishing Festival June 8 at Pleasant Hill Lake Park. Soar into the sky at Ashland Balloon Fest June 27-30. Shop for treasures at the Antique Festival July 5-6. Don’t miss Loudonville’s Classic Car Show July 6, hundreds of classic cars on display.
Area sporting events include Tough Mudder at Lamm Airport in Mansfield, April 27-28 and Warrior Dash at Clear Fork Resort in Butler May 31-June 1, both extreme obstacle course challenges. The Mohican 100 Mile Mountain Bike Race June 1, which attracts racers from around the country, the Mohican 100 Mile Trail Run June 15-16, and the Dirty Mo Run July 20, all held in and around Mohican State Park.
